G.I JANE: Khaki Boiler Suit

Friday, 20 February 2015

Khaki Boiler Suit: currently £9 on H&M website
but I actually picked it up for £7 in store!
Wedges: River Island (old)

Khaki is huge this season. And while I don't usually care about trends or what's in, I fell in love with this boiler suit when I saw it in the sale, a natural extension of my love of jumpsuits really. It could easily be worn buttoned up and with trainers for a casual day, but it can also be sexy! Pop open a few buttons for a hint of cleavage and throw on some heels....

Cream Coat Chic

Coat: charity shop
Jumper: Primark

Giggles with my baby sister who is not such a baby anymore, on a sunny but cold Saturday afternoon, feeling very This is England. I've been living in this oversized cream coat I picked up in a charity shop or 'special shop' as we call them in my family, over the Christmas holidays. I paid a shocking £7.50, which is such a bargain considering the quality and beautiful gold buttons. I'll also be living in my Docs seeing as winter is in full effect here in London. I really need to up my layering game as my main aim in winter is just to say warm - fashion flies out the window!

Style Yay or Nay: Scrunchies

Thursday, 23 October 2014

"Scrunchies are for spotty teenagers playing music from their phones on the bus" I hear you cry!
Well actually, scrunchies are having a bit of a come-back at the moment, part and parcel of the '90's grunge revival that's everywhere right now. Cool girls online boutique La Moda UK even has a whole page dedicated to them here.

Last month I went to Turkey and managed to pick up three scrunchies in really cool colours and materials for less than a quid at the Turkish market, which you can read about here.

I'll wear them with my mom jeans for a true nod to the '90's.

So scrunchies, you feeling them? Style Yay or Nay?

I love everything about this top from Crown Love, I mean there are actually muulti-coloured pom poms on it! Allowing me to indulge my inner child even while wearing heels. They are an ethically sourced brand too so you can feel good while you look good.

All sweaters and hats: Point View Attire

Having been one of the original models for Point View Attire I feel it's only right I give them a little shout on Shanika Says. The label owner Remaro Hibbert describes the brand as 'positive and stylish clothing...it's all about standing out for the right reason' and the affordable price points are aimed at the new generation of trendsetters.

A great range of T-shirts, super comfy sweatshirts and hats, the cosy beanies are a firm favourite of mine!

Shanika Says: check out the full range here on PointViewAttire.com because a little birdy tells me some new stuff is coming out soon.
